Weather
The weather varied between Snowing S-1 and calm mostly cloudy conditions. ~1" new by 1pm.
Snowpack
The 11/30 interface was the primary layer of concern for both west and northwest-facing slopes in this area. The older snowpack below was either non-existent in some locations, or a bit variable in depth or ground cover interrupting the layering. On a NW facing, 32 degrees slope. The HS was 110cm, with a 1F midpack slab. ECTP 15 SP on the 11/30 interface. That interface was still fist hard, but the 1.5mm faceted grains had their corners and edges rounding off. I didn't find anything exciting on the little bit of west-facing terrain I passed through. The HS averaged about 70cm and the layer of weak snow at the ground was only about 10cm thick and often disrupted by variations along the ground. Above 11,000ft the wind had previously redistributed much of the snow. The most concerning areas were concave terrain features and a few that were cross-loaded, while other terrain was wind eroded.
