Weather

Moderate westerly winds, warm and sunny around noon then cold, cloudy and windy around 3 PM.

Snowpack

Whumpfs were observed on every aspect and elevation here with large slope scale collapses on east-facing, wind-loaded slopes. The slab is about 4F hard on the hand hardness scale and up to half a meter thick on top of very weak (F- hard) cohesionless facets. Extended Column Tests produced propagating failures always on less than 15 taps.t

Avalanche

A couple of small natural avalanches from the past few days were observed along Huntsman Ridge. A few large avalanches were observed by Hawk Peak and coded in this observation:
