Weather

Warm, but not quite as warm as Thursday. The influence of the clouds did not have that same oppressive heat felt during peak heating the day before.

Snowpack

The West Elk Wilderness went through a similar all-aspect shed cycle as the Elk Range, but with fewer spreading Wet Slab avalanches observed. The lower elevations are melted out on most sun-exposed slopes below about 10,000'. Wetted shedding surfaces on all aspects to the summit of peaks.

Avalanche

Many D1.5 avalanches below cliffs and rocky features with fewer gouging D2 wet slides. None that appeared to run on Friday.
