Weather
Clear, no precip, mid 20'sF, light winds from E/NE, no new snow
Snowpack
Upper mineral creek drainage, 12600ft, North to north east aspect. Moderate wind loading observed on tour, cracking and collapsing was noted on more intensely wind loaded slopes, fair stability. In areas, significant melt freeze crust and wind loading, 5-10cms.
Avalanche
Released as slough and at interface between upper crust (while halfway down colouir, picked up speed and began to widen as terrain allowed. SS slide with a crown 5-10ft wide and runout 20-30ft. Did not measure debris, but approx. 1-2ft deep. Did not step down. Should not have ridden slope but felt uncomfortable unstrapping.
