Weather
Overcast and snowing S2. The winds were swirling and primarily from the northwest with blowing snow. Temperature dropped from 25.8F to 21.4F degrees.
Snowpack
Above treeline on a northeast aspect the loose snow was being transported by northwest winds. The snow was being deposited to drifts on lee aspects and features. Mostly the drifts were soft and breakable but on exposed convex rolls and below ridgelines they became firm and hollow. In this location 38cm below the surface a layer of small near surface facets was found to collapse with moderate to hard force. ECTN28@198 shows a stubbornness to propagating. Stability tests were commonly failing on this layer in repeatable fashion.
