Snowpack

A layer of sugary facets sitting in the middle of the snowpack being buried by all the wind loading. Found wind slabs from a few inches to multiple feet.

Avalanche

East facing at 11,500 feet. When skinning up near the ridgline noticed a slightly steeper pitch for about 50 feet to our right that looked very wind loaded, stayed away on terrain less than 30 degrees. After skiing down about 100 feet away noticed the pitch had slid with around a 5 foot crown, only slide about 50 feet. All wind loaded snow.
