Hasler

Today on our way into the Hasler riding area we had truck remote trigger slides starting in the ditches as we passed steeper sloped ditches. Roughly 10cm crown, good indicator that the snowpack is unstable. We dug our pit around tree line. Elevation: 1600m wind: calm incline: 20 degrees Temps: Air -15.7 snow surface: -14.0 In our pit we had 3 reactive layers. First being the new storm snow that reacted at CTE1 sudden collapse down 13cm. The next layer of concern was down 38cm reacting in the moderate range at CTM18 sudden collapse sitting on a storm snow interface with rime balls 4mm in size. The final layer of concern is down 118cm this layer reacted in the moderate to hard range at CTM19-CTH21. This layer is the October facet crust layer. The probability of this layer reacting is low but comes with a high consequence if triggered. Have and play safe.
