Weather
Chilly to start the day, but warmed quickly as the sun rose higher in the sky. A few clouds here and there, but mostly blue skies.
Snowpack
The snowpack below treeline where I traveled was generally less than a meter deep and lacked any alarming layers. The crust from the recent warmup was not very stout, with only six inches or so of settled snow on top. The facets at the ground had gained a little strength but were still fairly weak. The snowpack varied considerably at the upper reaches of near treeline, ranging from less than a meter to 150cm. Similar to lower elevations, the warmup crust was deteriorating and not as robust as others areas I've been to lately. Without a significant loading event, this snowpack felt generally safe and lacked any concerning slab/weak layers except for the marginally weak basal facets.
Avalanche
I saw very little evidence of recent avalanches in this area.
