Solo tour up Black Prince on Boxing Day. Much better than an afternoon of shopping! Snow Profile at 2000m revealed a rapidly faceting upper snowpack. The lower 15cm of the snowpack is sugary and formation of depth hoar was noted. Total snow depth of 130cm in a sheltered spot, with a very supportive mid-pack (made for fast skiing). Cold day, but still fun playing in the snow!
