Good trip up Rainbow, one old avalanche observed but nothing was reactive to skier traffic. Stayed away from unsupported terrain. Skiing is decent at tree line and above.

Avalanche

Climbed to the summit of rainbow and skied down. Looks like a pocket of wind slab in a lee slope below a cliff was triggered by some stuffing off the unsupported steep terrain above it. Crust was found 30cm down on the slope near the top of the slide, sudden planar results on top of the crust when column was isolated (CTV). Facets were found underneath the crust. Did not propagate with skier traffic and no other slabs were reactive.
