The alpine got hammered - SSV

Skied the SSV meadows and made our way to check out the base of Citadel. No big surprise but the high winds in past days just hammered the snow pack. No significant obs - had some minor whumpfing on wind slab on low angle terrain so we dialed it back and didn’t bother with the alpine where wind effect was obvious. On the positive side, the recent wind means the snow pack is more supportive and you no longer punch through the facets as per last weekend. Hopefully we get a really good refresh soon. Some areas (col and ridges) got scurried to ground. Decent turns were had at tree line in sparse trees where wind crust wasn’t prevalent. But it took a bit of hunting !
