Snowpack

The two short chutes on the west side of the canyon were holding about a foot of snow. No new activity and little change since my last visit, except less snow. The snowpack was composed of large-grained rounding facets with a stout crust on top, supportable to boots, and another very strong, icy crust down about 15 cm. Water has been moving through to the ground. An inversion was in place and the snow was frozen solid.
