Weather

Mild on the pass at 9am but parking lot puddles has refrozen overnight. Westerly, moderate gusts above tree line kept the snow surface more firm than expected.

Snowpack

Southerly slopes did not begin to soften until 1pm. Thereafter, turns were smooth and enjoyable.

Avalanche

On the east aspect of peak 12,849, below the horizontal rock band, a fairly wide avalanche ran during last week's wind event. Crowns appeared to range from 1 to 2 feet and debris depth was modest.
