Snowpack

Snow at lower elevations was warming on E and S facing slopes. Warming decreased with elevation. On exposed ridges and areas above treeline the wind prevented the snowpack from warming. Firm Surface slabs were observed on W-SW facing slope in the alpine. Persistent weak-layers we observed on SE-E-NE facing slopes near-treeline. Crust/facet combinations we observed below the new snow from the 2/27-2/28 storm. In a snpwpit on the NE facing slope near-treeline the crust facet layer produced hard propagating results. (ECTP25) HS near-treeline was 255cm.

Avalanche

Loose Wet avalanche activity was observed from previous warm and sunny days. A few Storm Slab avalanches were observed that likely went during the 2/28 strom.
