Weather
The morning was warm and clear, with very light winds. Clouds began to build after noon, and light snow began around 2 pm at our near-treeline location, just north of Taylor pass. Snow was spreading across the area quickly and winds were strengthening between 2:00 and 3:30 when we finished our tour.
Snowpack
The snowpack near-treeline was all facets on the largely west facing slopes we travelled today. Snow depth averaged around 10 inches. Above treeline, many slopes were larely clear of snow with the exception of gullies and wind drifted areas. Northerly and easterly slopes had decent coverage, probably due to past wind loading. Below 10.000 feet, the snow was moist at 3 PM and average snow depth was around 6 inches.
