Calm winds increasing later in the afternoon from the NW, ridge top winds visible late in the day 15:00. Warm temps with scattered cloud cover and sunshine.
Snowpack
As a Class we dug multiple pits on SE, E, NE, and N Aspects below treeline. At 9930ft. on E facing slopes students observed an intermittent ice and melt grains layers on the ground. With Compression test: CTN (x2), CTH Q3 down 48, and a shovel tilt test that revealed a NSF layer about 15 down with Q1 sheer quality. At 10,000ft on an N Aspect students observed CTE Q3 down 10 on NSF, CTM Q2 down 30 AT 10,000ft on a SE aspect studnets observed an issolated wind slab, CTM Q3 down 50, and a shovel tilt test with a Q1 sheer down 20 At 9700 on a NE facing shady slope students observed a CTM Q3 down 5, CTM Q2 down 11, CTH Q3 down 31
