Berthoud Pass west side above the " Roll ", 11,880ft, NE aspect ATL. Skies-OVC in the am with light winds out of the N/NE. Precip S-1 in the am increasing to S2 in the pm by 1500hrs. Mix of stellars/graupel. Temps aprox. 10deg f and falling into the single digits after 1300hrs.
Snowpack
Snowpack depth measured in all three locations at aprox. 11,800ft was on average between 110cm-150cm. HST=15cm, ski pen= 25cm. Observed a 2-3cm MFC buried about 30cm down on most E/SE/S aspects. SWE= medium density. Hasty pit dug at 11,800ft on a NE aspect above the " Roll". HS= 110cm. CTM 35cm down that failed on buried DF's .05mm in size. Also measured aprox. 30cm of depth hoar in this location 3mm in size with a 60cm 1F hard wind slab residing above.
