See profile from NE below treeline. HS averaged 100cm on shaded slopes. HST 10cm. Found good skiing in soft wind texture in open areas below treeline. Windward sides of ridges had 15-50cm of entirely faceted snow. Tilt tests showed clean shears within the new snow as well as at the interface of new and old snow. Jan 11th interface (47cm below the surface) is becoming less reactive showing hard initiation and failing with breaks in compression tests. Saw similar results on Nov facets/depth hoar. CTVH (40) BRK failing 10cm above the ground.
