Snowpack

In Silver Ledge Mine, NE aspect blw TL there was only 60cm snow. Bottom 20cm was facets/depth hoar. The remainder was snow from last storm that was faceting, but still acting as a cohesive slab. Test results were all showing CT 18-20 Q3 failing at depth hoar/slab interface. Surface had a very friable and thin crust (5mm thick)with NSF and tiny grauple/rimed crystals on top. Didn't seem like it would be too much of a sliding surface with a new load and the remainder of the pack was not too alarming.
