Weather
It was calm, -10C, starting out at midday BTL, with visible blowing snow ATL. Light snow began around 2, accompanied by increasing winds, which eventually reached Moderate to High. Significant loading was taking place on the pass on the drive out, with drifts forming across the road.
Snowpack
Approximately 25cm of new snow atop a surprisingly shallow snowpack of predictable layers was VERY reactive to skier weight BTL and NTL. We experienced significant collapsing and audible whoomphing on a variety of slope angles. Well developed facets 70cm down and new snow on burried Windslab failed in compression.
