Weather

Cold. Windy. Snowy. Drifting in bootpack up ridge. Winds veered NW late afternoon and were blowing snow even at valley level.

Snowpack

Storm slab, often with the cakey, floury feel of wind drifted snow. No hard slabs. Sitting on old snow.

Avalanche

Could not see far enough into 5 fingers to see the large slide reported earlier in the day. Did get a close look at one in the saddle into S Highland Bowl (below) and glimpse of a larger slide in the 1st finger - Thumb? - that was also reported earlier. May have been a slide in Maroon Bowl earlier in the day but the crown was already drifted in.
