snow had not started as of 5pm, but heavy dark clouds building. Temps in the 20s, little wind.
Snowpack
All observations were from the road. On the west side of the range, the snowpack is mostly gone below treeline. New snow will be falling on mostly bare ground. Near and above treeline had surprisingly continuous coverage. Snow depths appeared shallow with pockets of deeply wind-drifted snow. New snow will be falling on old snow on many westerly slopes. NW slopes near treeline and in drifted areas ATL look most likely for avalanches with the incoming storm.
