Weather

Clear and sunny on the Mesa. The North Fork valley was still socked in with a cloud ceiling at about 10,000 feet. HS of 38" at the weather plot, average HS in study plot around 42". 8" on the stake, which was what was reported yesterday at 0630.

Snowpack

The new snow had settled into a 4f slab. The surface was 5mm SH. beneath this was a thick layer of F hard facets, then the 1.11 surface hoar layer. Below the SH was a thick slab of K hard facets rounding. Depth hoar at the base was also well rounded in this fairly sun-exposed area, and was 4F hard. Two ECT tests were unremarkable except to show that the new snow slab was not propagating in this area. ECTN 12 and 13 on the buried NSF layer.
