Snowing and overcast all day varying between light and heavy. Started at the car around 20 degrees and got slightly colder throughout the day. Light winds from the north with moderate gusts.
Snowpack
South and West facing slopes had a thick supportable melt freeze crust throughout the terrain. Occasionally there would be a small place where I would punch through it but that was rare. NW to E slopes I found a mostly supportable hard slab over facets. These slabs averaged around 20-30cm and were often supportable on skis but not in boots when I got off my skis. I did get a fair amount of collapsing under foot while touring but it didn't propagate through the snowpack. I only had 1 small collapse that went a couple meters from my ski (N facing terrain near treeline). The new snow seemed to be bonding well with the old snow.
