SKi'd dense trees and open trees. When travelling near to steep slopes , we spread out. Skinned up to 1500M and did not experience any whumpfing or shooting cracks. Main hazard to manage was the upper snowpack storm slab which was identifiable on "hasty testing from 800M of elevation to 1500M of elevation however this PWL appears to be consolidating. We did observe a more firm upper snowpack (soft slab) on southerly (wind and sun exposed) slopes whereas the Northerly slopes revealed the storm layer as a dry snow loose/unconsolidated layer. All in all an amazing day of powder skiing in the trees.
