- surfaceHoar
Surface hoar growing in sheltered terrain below treeline, up to 15 mm lower slope. Wind affected all exposed terrain above tree line, sun crust on solar asp. Good skiing sheltered polar asp below tree lit. Resistant planar hand shears dn 20-30 cm in sheltered treeline on decomposing surface hoar layer (like Jan 10), not propagating or reactive to skier traffic. Quite a few glide cracks out there, generally lower slope features, spooky. No lack of bad skiing but good skiing if you know where to find it.
