The surface layers are complicated; check out the complexity in the top 25 cm with two crusts, surface hoar and some new snow. This is the situation around the Jan 24 PWL which consists of surface hoar and crust. We got easy, sudden test results with both compression and extended column tests. Watch this layer closely as a slab develops over it. No real slab showing in this profile. We also saw surface hoar up to 20 mm nearby.
