Summited Rohr and descended a northerly slope from after traversing west across the ridge. Dug a pit before descending. Giant cornices over N aspects all along the majority of the ridge. Conditions highly variable with a mix of wind scoured slopes (S & W of many features i.e. ridgelines), wind slab (N & W aspects), and powder on crust (S aspects). Terrible visibility and flat light in the alpine all day making navigation difficult with the occasional rare break in the clouds/fog; visibility at treeline and below much better.
