We skied steep terrain but the low angle slopes were the most enjoyable because of the hard crust down 15cm. We now just need a bit more snow to cover up that crust even more. We did not see any new avalanche activity. However we did see evidence of the large widespread natural cycle from last week to size 3 on all aspects and elevations. The picture is from a profile of the top 1 metre of the snowpack. Besides the crust, it was interesting to see how much rain the Fernie area got evidenced by the soaking wet snow in channels extending down 90cm.
