Snowpack

About a meter of snow in the area traveled. This near tree line pit was at the top of Swamp Creature. On about a 30 degree slope the snow pit measured 95 cm. 5cm of new snow from overnight. Last weekends Persistent Slab is now 55cm, and the remaining 40cm are weak and faceted snow grains. The Persistent Slab rests on these 1 to 2 mm facets, and the interface held 2 to 3 mm of larger faceted grains. Easy compression tests failed at this 40cm interface, and our extended column test failed moderately at 19 with propagation across the column. Our propagation saw test was a 40/100 and broke to the end. Ski tracks from this past week were abundant and were evenly spaced across the the Creature proper. We did not ski this slope, and retreated to lower angle terrain. Stay safe out there.
