Snowpack
Traveling on East aspect we experienced localized cracking and collapsing below TL on open slopes where windslabs were present. At treeline on 28 deg slope E aspect while skiing we experienced a large collapse in the compression zone of the slope with cracks shooting across and up the slope. On same aspect and elevation of 11,700 pit showed HS 85cm. Hst 13cm sitting on Pencil hard wind slab 8cm thick. Below wind slab were facets to the ground. Shovel tilt test showed good bond of old/new snow interface. There was a shear within the storm snow 3cm down. Snowpack test showed: CT13 SC @ 40cm from surface on 2mm facets. ECTPV on same layer.
