RMNP Conditions: Taking advantage of near windless conditions, my partner and I ascended/skied down the slope/couloir on the east side of Hallet Peak. The first several hundred feet above Emerald contained soft slab 4-6" thick and barely enough snow to cover the rocks. At the constriction of the slope, snow pack deepened to several feet. In places we could boot-pack up.
