Weather
Very cold start in the morning but intense solar made it feel very warm on the hike.
Snowpack
a thin wind crust had formed on the slope. Dug down in several locations and found a mostly shallow snowpack that had a supportive mid-pack and either evidence of a crust or small amount of facets at the ground level. ECT was in the mid 20's with a Q3 shear. could not find much evidence of the "christmas crust" on this aspect. Rode up to 40 degrees with no signs of instability and marginal ski pen.
