Weather
Increasing cloudiness from scattered at 1030 to overcast by 1330 with lots of high thin clouds intensifying the radiation. Light winds in the morning increased to moderate and began transporting snow around noon. Light snowfall began around 1430.
Snowpack
Warm temps and intense solar radiation moistened the top few cm of snow at the surface in the morning. The mid-pack is settling into a slab that is supportable enough to ride, but widespread weak layers at the bottom of the snowpack are still accessible in many areas. Despite minimal cracking and collapsing on low-angle slopes, the snowpack structure does not inspire confidence.
