Weather

Warm temps with a high of 42 at 11 am, then cooling in the afternoon. Temps did not rise above freezing at ridge top. Winds were moderate from the Southwest and kept the snow cool. Sunny breaks in the morning gave way to clouds and snow beginning at 3:30

Snowpack

Snow did not soften on East, South or West slopes above treeline where slopes were exposed to the wind. Sheltered East facing slope near treeline did soften. Below treeline it softened around 10 am, but began to refreeze around 3pm. Snow became a bit punchy and “trap door” at midday on SW slope below treeline, but got firmer again quickly.
