Weather

Broken skies in AM w good visibility. Occasional snow showers and obscured skies. Small banners on Sopris, Chair in AM. Winds picked up in valleys and mid slope early afternoon. Heavy rime on trees above 9800' in AM.

Snowpack

Snow since mid-February has formed 90 cm slab, F to 1F hardness at base. Sitting on distinct layer of rounding and sintering FC, 4F hard, < 1mm. Decomposing layer of better preserved FC 1-1.5 mm about 10 cm below that. Surface snow on S facing v slightly moist in PM.

Avalanche

None visible on Chair, Hawk or Elk mountains, but crowns may have blown in.
