calm, partly cloudy, temps in low 20's

Snowpack

Base of 98" at 10,300 on the south face. 35 cm of new light snow on top of 20 cm of dense heavy snow. most of the sluffs and small soft slabs went on the density change.

Avalanche

we had one small slide on south soda mtn at 10,100 ft. it was 30 cm deep and ran on the sun crust from a week ago. it was 3 meters wide, ran 5 meters. On the north aspects in bitch creek we had sluffs that ran a fair bit, but no slabs in the new snow. elevation on the sluffs is 9,600. overall the danger was less than we expected heading out on all aspects. thx
