Snowpack
Saturday May 7 11.00am. Red 2, Champion. 12,500' N aspect 35 degrees slope. Only dug down 5'. Top 6" stiff windslab over 2" lower density with light crusts over 30" stiff slab on layer small facets. CST 15 x 1 Q3 failure in lower density snow. Slope is apparently wind-loaded from the top and cross-loaded, ridges were stripped. Spring snow conditions by the bottom of the bowl, and getting quite punchy lower down and on sun-facing slopes. Good skiing at 11am.
