Clear skies, low winds, temps in the teens

Snowpack

Freshly formed wind slabs resting on old decomposing sun crust/facet layer. 3mm depth hoar on bottom. Fairly consistent stratigraphy near treeline to above on southerly aspects and lee slopes

Avalanche

R2 D2 AS/r SE aspect around 12,000'. Sympathetic trigger from 500' away on small open bowl. Pulled out two new wind slabs that ran to the ground.
