Bluebird yesterday, mild temps, light winds yesterday. Increasing clouds and obscured peaks by 1430 yesterday. almost looked like rain.. light southerly winds. mild mild temps. seemed to really get warm around mid morning..no sensible solar, just warm ambient air.
Snowpack
Sunny skies yesterday in Eureka, but not quite enough solar to get wet loose rocking. Looked like area went though a D1-1.5 wet loose cycle within the last 48 hours. Significant debris looked to have ran over several ice climbs on southerly exposures, as well as north-northeastly slopes. HS: 30-60cm. Evidence of some transport from moderate NE WINDS, scalloped hard slab appearance.. today in Ames, snow below treeline grew very gloppy and moist from just ambient air temps at all aspects. Seemed to be ripening steep shady north facing slopes for full depth facet sluffs naturally and especially with disturbance, as surface snow (3-4") became "top heavy." Road cuts were naturally sluffing onto the road. HS: 20-30cm
