At 4am we closed Red Mtn Pass. Snowfall rates have been a steady 2" per hour. Storm snow totals for Red have reached 53+" with 4.95" water. We are also anticipating spot closures for avalanche mitigation over Molas and Coal Bank Passes as well. Currently in Silverton: Snowing between S1 & S2. HN24 4.5" (bottom half is wet goo). Winds light. Temp 33F. Weather Stations: Winds swinging between slightly SE to slightly SW, speeds in upper 20's, Gusts 40's 50's. PG 78 on Eagle. Precip rates at SASP on RMP similar to what has been reported. Our Hazard has reached High for RMP. Coal Bank and Molas are at Moderate and trending to High. Backcountry hazard is also High.
