Weather

Broken clouds, calm and warm. Temperatures in upper 30's by midday at 11,000ft

Snowpack

6-8" of new snow. By midday, on any aspect that saw the sun, the new snow was warming and forming a dense slab that was not bonding well to the firm melt/freeze crust below. Northerly aspects the new snow remained dry and unconsolidated, but even N slopes at 11,000 feet had a firm crust below the new snow.

Avalanche

Saw a crown on the E face of Parrott just below the ridge line (see attached photo). It appeared to be a few days old. Couldn't estimate size from across the drainage as any debris in the path was covered by new snow.
