Snowpack
I skied Saturday on Anvil from HWY 550 and found some really dicy conditions! My main observation was for a natural on Ophir Bowl. The starting point was unclear(poor vis.) but the starting zone was near the top of the northeast facing side of the bowl. All of the new snow on Cement Fill was stripped clean so I suspect the slide in question was from wind loading resulting from strong west/southwest winds at the tail end of the first surge (Friday night/Saturday morning). Could have been a corners fall but it was unclear. From what I could see at the bottom, I'd give it R2+-D-2 We skied very conservatively near edge wood at the base of Ophir bowl and other tree shoots working back to HWY 550 and noticed large settlements on north aspeacts. We quickly headed out and stayed away on Sunday. Then I saw what I suspected in other reports which came in Sunday…
