Skied Ogden bench In the morning it was snowing ~1cm per hour clearing up around noon, overcast all day. Winds remained calm-light from the north throughout the day, picking up toward the end of the day. The area got a lot of snow from the recent storms, with up to 120cm on top of the Nov 13 crust, which was hard to find probing with poles. Snowpack generally seems right side up, with the new snow mostly being fist resistance with minimal wind effect. 1.5m+ depth in TL/Alp. Trailbreaking ski pen was 40-50cm, we observed some cracking off the skis, and cut small slabs propagating up to 3m on wind effected convex test slopes limited to the top 25cm, soft slab failing on a mid-storm interface. We observed 3 sz 1-1.5 running off the headwall in the afternoon, and were surprised to see a lack of large avalanche debris after Thursday’s avy cycle, although evidence could be covered by recent storm snow. Sz 1.5 skier accidental triggered whilst skiing through a shallower steep rocky face in the alpine. soft slab propagating up to 30m about 25cm deep and was able to ski out on top no involvement. Ski quality was excellent, bottomless powder, with wind effect to only exposed alpine slopes. Coverage BTL is good and the lake is well frozen. Parking situation has degraded from last year with no plowing at Great Divide lodge or the Sherbrooke trailhead and ~1m high snow banks blocking the entrances. Some people are parking at the brake check east of Divide lodge, but there is very little room there.
