Explored east side of kokanee on SW aspect. Above treeline is a mix of wind scoured, sun crust, and intermittent deposits of powder. Skied steeps, no signs of instability. Warm airtemps on the ascent. By early afternoon, the snow softened for our descent. And below treeline remains powder - a sign that some parts of the region were possibly spared from the thick crust.
