What can I say? The forecasters were pretty spot on when they said challenging ski conditions. Went for a walk to see the sights and hopefully slide around a bit on the snow. Ended up lapping the lower part of the Ochre Springs slide path until the sun disappeared on us. Day started out quite a bit colder than anticipated, -18C in the shade, and ended up a balmy -1C in the sun. There was a bomb proof crust at the parking lot, that transitioned to breakable at the slide path. Wide spread cm sized surface hoar everywhere that wasn’t breaking down with the sunshine during the day. We also saw a very recent size 2 slide mid way through the slide path that had sympathetic releases.

Very recent natural avalanche mid way up the Ochre Springs slide path. Didn’t get close to properly check it out, but did notice some sympathetic releases on the other side of the gully from the initial release
