Weather

Very strong wind generally from the southwest. Tons of snow being transported. 6 inches of fresh snow but wind drifts were up to waist deep in places.

Snowpack

Clear signs of instability with wind loading. Experienced a shooting crack at 10,700ft on an E aspect on bald mountain and a very small test slope on a NE aspect at 10,700ft atop Klondike released the wind slab. Clearly touchy wind slabs that will need time to heal.

Avalanche
