28 and sunny later in the day there were winds out of the west, can't remember if there were westerly winds at time of event

Snowpack

2 persistent slabs, one slab at 55mm from ground, one slab 120mm from ground, thick layer or graupel snow at base. Rock hard layer at 120mm with about 5mm of lightweight, dry snow on top

Avalanche

small sluff on a southeast aspect of Teacup Area in Berthoud Pass seen around noon on 1/17/21. Elevation around 10,260'. Area that slid was probably 4x20 feet and only top layer, small but could have buried a skier
