We literally just skied down from the Highway into a small draw leading into the creek bed to head to Nigel basin. The first skier skied across a slab, felt and heard a whumpf, and a small avalanche released from a steep roll just above. We have been in here many times but this was a first. It looked like the slab slid on a layer of small buried surface hoar, about 30 cm down. A good indicator of how touchy windloaded features are right now, and confirmation to stick to the trees and on low angle slopes
