Sastrugi on the way up mostly. Bowl was ~6 in soft snow on top of crust.
Avalanche
We were told by friends who had done the same route the previous day about a soft slab slide they had triggered, then we observed that slide from below and on our ascent up the ridge. First rider in our two person group dropped in near the summit and triggered a small, slow-moving soft slab slide that ran down the center of the bowl. Rider cut left and descended ahead of and to the skier's left of the slide. Second skier dropped into the slide path and added a small amount of slough to the slide and descended parallel to the first riders tracks, skier's left of the slide path. Slide stopped short of the bottom of the bowl.
